Disclaimer: Some might consider discussing a topic such as this “unbecoming” to a Christian. I disagree. The details in which the devil hides must be brought to light.
We have been conditioned to accept LGBT identities as normal and fulfilling. This writing seeks to expose the truth. Sometimes it takes an extreme example to clarify a point.
Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer is a Netflix documentary released in 2019. It documents the hunt for Canadian gay porn star turned killer “Luka Rocco Magnotta”.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44
Born Eric Clinton Kirk Newman in 1982, he found an escape from his troubled childhood in watching movies. Specifically, he became obsessed with Basic Instinct.
Like many young men who struggle with homosexuality and gender confusion, Luka fantasized about being a powerful, manipulative, glamorous woman. He began to idolize gay icon Sharon Stone and her character in the film. Beginning with himself, Luka worshiped creation (humanity) rather than its Creator (Romans 1:25).
Having gained some notoriety from modeling and in the underground world of gay pornography, Luka tried all ways to get famous with limited success. He allegedly created web sites to propagate false rumors about himself – for example, ‘I heard Luka Magnotta is dating Madonna!!’
When all else failed, Luka allegedly used aliases to post a video of himself (face concealed) brutally killing cats. He finally got what he wanted. The video generated outrage among a group of animal lovers who vowed to uncover his identity and bring him to justice. Making use of his aliases and dumby accounts, he left clues and kept contact with those who “loved to hate him”.
Ultimately around 20 years old, Luka kept his promise to graduate to human murder. He met a guy online for the expressed purpose of sex (very common in the gay community). The Chinese immigrant came with Luka to his room. There Luka recorded a re-enactment of the first scene of Basic Instinct.
In the film scene, Sharon Stone’s character ties up a man with a silk scarf and slaughters him with an ice pick. True down to revised detail, Magnotta straddled Jun Lin and bludgeoned him to death with a modified screw driver. A Casablanca movie poster above the bed served as a stand-in for the stained glass window in the film.
After dismembering the victim, he sent body parts to elementary schools and government offices. He posted the murder video online. Having fled from Montreal to Germany, Eric Newman, aka “Luka Magnotta”, was captured in Berlin.
Either in an effort to seem unbiased or because producers were not intimately familiar with the gay world, his false gay identity and work as a porn star were not immediately disclosed in the documentary Don’t F**k with Cats. It seemed as though no connection was drawn between his motivation and gay identity.
However, the fantasy world that exemplifies gay life is certainly integral to his motive. Following his deceitful heart (Jeremiah 17:9), Luka walked in rebellion against God’s Word (Ephesians 2:2). Following Satan through sin, he was given over to the demonic. The snake coiled around his self-interest. Much like the Lord uses a pastor or evangelist to lead people to everlasting life, Satan chooses vessels and likewise uses them to steal, kill, destroy and dismember. One might imagine that Satan would reward Luka for his obedience. However, since being used, Luka has been discarded in prison.
“…the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” 2 Timothy 2:26
Satan paints a glorified picture of death for his followers as he lures them toward the cliff. The young man is enticed to idolize a sassy woman in high heels who always gets the last word. We exchange the truth of God for a lie. We trade our God-given identities (Gen 1:27) for that of another… a fantasy. Ungrateful, we are convinced the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Distracted by envy, we spend a lifetime chasing an identity we can never have. Some of us even mutilate our bodies to force the delusion into apparent reality.
“…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world…” Revelation 12:9
The inspired Word of God identifies only two paths that a human being can walk: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
Am I claiming that every person who identifies as gay is destined to be a convicted murderer? No. What I am saying is that the path of the unrepentant gay is not the path of everlasting life. It is the path of destruction (Proverbs 14:12).
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for providing is a way out (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). If Luka were to repent, even he could still be saved (Luke 23:39-43; Rom 3:23, 6:23).
Here is how it all comes together: “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful…” Romans 1:25-32
Ex-gay man, praise the Lord that we are no longer walking this path!
Don’t go back! Fight forward!
