Benching 100 lbs (45 kg) may not be an accomplishment for some guys. At 44 years old and having been obese not too long ago, I am just thankful to be fit again. Praise the Lord!
Keeping the weight off has not been easy. Skipping Sunday, I typically work out 5-6 times per week. My routine is simple and sustainable: (1) sit-ups, (2) lift, (3) jog for 30-45 mins.
Example Reality: I like me some sweets. If I ate a bit much the day prior, an extra 15 minutes tacked onto that jog (45 mins rather than 30) makes more difference than you might imagine.
Advantage: Living on the equator where it is brutally hot, makes a huge difference. Finished with a jog, I could wring out my clothes… some days, fill a small water bottle with sweat. Wearing a garbage bag could possibly simulate the climate. 🙂
Note: Keeping one’s mouth shut after dinner (not eating in the evening) is a game changer. I wish I could say I have summited that mountain. Nonetheless, Praise the Lord for progress!
Reminder: Feeding our relationship with Christ through consistent Bible reading, prayer, worship and service must be the believer’s #1 priority (Matt 6:33).
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
